Reunited

I was happy to return to my family on Thursday night. After two nights away, I was ready to hug my baby. It was good for Henry and dad to have some one-on-one time though. Henry is at an extreme Mommy stage and I was happy he could learn to be without me for a few days. Of course, watching videos of Henry from afar made me realize how all viewers of our site must feel. After seeing him on the computer, I just wanted to hold him and hug him even more.

I don’t have pictures, but Henry has improved in swimming, to the point that I think he actually enjoys it now. Yesterday, he floated by himself and I put him under water several times more than I had previously. He was also trying to kick and splash. It helped that he didn’t have a toy in his hand (a little duck from the pool toys) to divert his attention. He really focused on the swimming.

The night I got home at 12:30am, Henry heard my voice and woke up right away. Although I was exhausted, I was secretly happy to hug my Henry.

I took Henry to the park Friday evening. I was surprised how excited he was to just sit and watch people (and pigeons). I guess even babies get spring fever.

After swimming and going to the park, Henry goes down for the night. He sleeps on his stomach more often now.

  1. Every picture you take of Henry he is just adorable. To me he is not camera shy whatsoever and seems to enjoy having his picture taken. You dress him in such adorable clothing.

    • Thanks, “Ms.” Betty for following Henry’s site and your compliments.

Whether he enjoys being photographed, we can’t tell yet, but he sure gets a lot of pix taken. When he notices, he seems curious about the camera and often reaches for the strap.

    • I agree, Betty, Henry’s wardrobe is adorable! He should be a model (says unbiased Grandma Lois 🙂

  2. It is so fun watching babies discover something new, whether it is birds, grass, or just a beautiful spring day! They just get SO excited, I love to see the twinkle in their eyes!

    • I agree. I don’t know if all babies like textures, but Henry touches things really hard if that makes any sense. He seems to really like to feel things.

  3. The photo of Jacqui & Henry reunited is one of my favorites, although I admit I have a lot of “favorites.” But this one brought tears to my eyes – it really captured Jacqui’s tenderness and joy at being reunited with her son and Henry’s contentment at being in his mommy’s arms once again. Great photo, Daddy Mark ! Also I love the video showing how engaged Henry is in the world around him, seeing his sense of wonder as he touches the grass & watches the bird and enjoys being outdoors. What a joy our Henry is for so many people!

  4. PS – I’m thrilled that Henry’s improving with swimming, esp. since I can’t swim more than a few feet, and that much only if I know I’m in the low end of the pool! It’s so good ya’ll are already encouraging your son to try new activities. Love ya’ll a bunch !
