Thursday night was Ona and Gram’s last night here, so we took them out for a nice dinner. I always have a hard time seeing my family go. It was nice for Ona and Gram to spend time with Henry and get to know him. He really loved having them here and so did I. Photo credits to Mona Jane Gordon too. Until next time…
New York’s weather has been beautiful while Gram and Ona are here this week. Last night we took a nice evening walk and stopped in the park.
Buddies: Henry and Ona.

Ona, Henry and Gram have become close this week.
Gram and Henry at Takahachi Bakery.
As previously noted, Henry really enjoys chocolate ice cream. Today Gram treated him.
Today we had company for our weekend walk. Gram and Ona came along on a meandering walk from Tribeca to the West Village and back again. Stops included Washington Market Park for fun at the playground, Jacques Torres for chocolate, Housing Works thrift store for bargains (including Henry’s first baseball: $1), Magnolia Bakery for cupcakes and the Hudson Diner for lunch.
Taking a shortcut through Staple Street alley.
Ford GT40 Gulf / Mirage Racing Car parked on Hudson St. Kinda like seeing a life-sized Matchbox car parked in the neighborhood.

We got Henry a baseball at a local thrift store.

My au pairs for the week have arrived. Gram and Ona arrived yesterday. Our daycare is closed for the next two weeks, so they are here to watch Henry for the first week of the closing. I am happy to have them here not only to watch Henry, but also to spend some time with them.

Today we took a long walk through Brooklyn because Gram had never had a chance to see Brooklyn Heights or the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Although thoroughly exhausted, we had a great day.

We keep a toy box in the living room in a futile attempt to contain Henry’s things. He enjoys taking things out much more than we enjoy putting them back. Anyway, the mishap in this video below happens about once or twice a week.
Maryellen handed Henry these toy eggs that are like musical instruments early this morning. He really liked them. She calls them shaky eggs and let him bring a few home.
