We celebrated Henry’s third birthday in much the same way we celebrated last year, with a party at the local playground in Washington Market Park. This year Henry was able to celebrate with his grand-dad too.

Henry and I headed to Brooklyn yesterday to celebrate our friend Joyce’s birthday while Jacqui attended a concert uptown with a friend. Along the way we spotted some fish.

Adelina, a friend from from Henry’s daycare had a birthday party today. Her mom runs an educational workshop, called the Robot Foundry where kids can build robots. Henry had a great time.
Ain’t no party like a Play-Doh party.
Stella, one of Henry’s friends from daycare, celebrated her second birthday yesterday. Henry was happy to partake in cupcakes, balloons and rolling in bed with books.
Henry had his final celebration for his second birthday at daycare today. Maryellen has a party for each child on or around their birthday including, bubbles, candles, and balloons in whatever color is chosen by the child. Henry chose orange, blue and well, whatever color was closest to him, so Maryellen used a variety of colors. Readers may recall that Henry was just learning to walk last year at this time and began taking consistent steps without falling at his daycare party last year. I was lucky enough to be there and see it.

Henry’s big celebration for his 2nd birthday took place at Washington Market Park today. Many of his friends from daycare and other walks of life attended. Mark and I felt it was a success. Henry wore himself out eating watermelon, running around shirtless, yelling and opening gifts once we returned home.
