We went to Madison Square Park and environs to sample the food and music at the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party. There were chefs/pitmasters from all over the country and opportunities to try all different regional styles. Even Henry, who’s sometimes a picky eater, couldn’t resist the ribs and pulled pork.
We attended the annual food fest, Taste of Tribeca, in our neighborhood on Saturday. This was Henry’s third time attending and our eighth. This is one of our favorite yearly events and it is also a chance to support the local schools. Henry was Spiderman for the day and enjoyed wearing the sword he received from a nice lady making balloon animals for the kids.
Although Henry does not eat much more than sandwiches every night for dinner, he enjoyed helping me prepare tonight’s galette. When brushing the egg onto the pie crust, he called it painting. He is a good little helper and very meticulous.

We had lunch on New Year’s Day with Eamonn and Emily at Hop Lee in Chinatown. Henry had an opportunity to take some of the pics himself.
Lunch at Seither’s Seafood in Harahan.
Last night Henry encountered boiled crawfish on the menu for the first time. So far he finds them more hilarious than delicious. He enjoyed my demonstration of how to peel them and suck their heads but couldn’t bring himself to actually taste.
