Mark went on an all guy’s camping trip over the weekend. Henry and I decided to have our own getaway so we headed to Connecticut to see Isla, Jessica and Gray. The kids, once again, got along really well. They both had a great time on the beach, throwing wet sand and getting their feet, faces, hands and clothes very dirty in the process. It has been great to see the Burn family several times this summer especially since Isla and Henry’s vocabularies are expanding and they are able to actually have small forms of conversation now.
Henry had a Sunday playdate with Isla. We had a nice time strolling around the neighborhood and eating an early dinner at Hudson Eats. The two kids got along swell and Jessica and I couldn’t help but be proud of them.
Henry and I traveled to Connecticut to visit our friends Jessica and Isla. We toured the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium. Although both kids enjoyed the animals, they really enjoyed running around and investigating the building itself more. Henry touched a jellyfish for the first time and he screamed with delight.
It was a perfect Sunday for Jess to bring her daughter, Isla into the city from Connecticut. This was Isla’s first visit to New York City. We went to lunch, walked around the park, and then Henry and Isla were able to get in some play time. Hopefully, they will come back soon.
Henry and I took the MetroNorth train (Henry’s first time in Grand Central and on Metro-North) to Fairfield, Connecticut to visit Jessica, Gray and Isla Burn. Jessica and Gray’s baby, Isla was born in June 2012, so she and Henry are not too far apart. Although in baby time, it is pretty amazing what a difference even two months makes as far as development. Isla is almost eating two solids a day while Henry is still drinking his food. It was fun for the two kids to meet and it was nice for me to catch up with my good friends. Here are some photos of the two just hanging out. Many forced poses by parents, of course.
