Grandma Lois watched Henry for a few hours while Jacqui and I went to see the movie, “Boyhood”. When we returned we found them napping together in his room.
We attended the rehearsal dinner for our niece, Michelle’s wedding to Tyler Goff, for which Henry will be serving as ring bearer. He did really well at the rehearsal considering he did not have a real nap the whole day and we were expecting the worst. The rehearsal dinner was held at Emeril’s Delmonico and Henry held up with a great spirit until he just couldn’t keep his eyes open anymore. We are hoping for the best tomorrow for the big show.
Today I adjusted Henry’s crib to its toddler bed position in the hopes of making it more appealing to him for bedtime. Actually Henry “helped” with the conversion by wielding the screwdriver (causing Jacqui a lot of stress) so now he seems to have a stake in the project and for this first night at least, is using it.
If books are still around when Henry is older, this is a good sign that he will love to read.
The past few Saturdays, Mark has been working late into the night. Since our little office area was moved into the master bedroom, Henry and I have moved to the pull-out couch on a couple of these late nights. This past weekend was our second slumber party in a row. He is a pretty good slumber buddy so far. He falls right asleep and I can catch up on some much-needed (wink, wink) TV watching.
