More highlights from Henry’s and my trip to Wyoming are seen in this photo gallery. Henry was able to visit most people in my family and everyone really enjoyed seeing him again, especially since he got really sick last time we visited (before he was one year’s old).
Henry and his cousin Mae really hit it off the first night of our visit. They hugged, bathed, and ate together. When Mae was not around Henry often repeated “Where is a Mae?, Where is a Mae?” and “I miss Mae, I miss Mae.” Minus a few episodes of yelling “No!” and “Mine!”, they had a fun time together.
Henry is feeling much better. I still regret that he couldn’t mingle more with everyone on Saturday, but very glad he got to meet everyone and experience a little bit of my home state. One thing I have discovered in my many years in New York is that the west is always in my heart. I look forward to Henry getting older and being able to truly enjoy all the beauty of Wyoming (in the summer of course, the winters are a bit long).
Most of the photos in the gallery show Henry with family members and the video shows his progress as he learns to crawl. It was nice for Henry to have all the space of my grandmother’s floor to really move vs. our small apartment floor where he is unable to go very far without running into something.
Visitors to this site may notice that it’s been about a week since the previous post. That’s because Henry and I flew to Wyoming last Wednesday. It was Henry’s first overnight trip and his first time meeting the majority of my family. My grandma organized a nice welcome dinner on Saturday so everyone could meet him. Unfortunately Henry spent most of the time fighting the sniffles and what appeared to be either allergies or a small cold. He didn’t get to spend too much time with the family, but there are a few snapshots of him trying to join the party.
We got home late Tuesday night. I will post more photos tomorrow. It was a long day of driving and flying. Henry did fine on both flights, but got pretty restless towards the end and I could tell he was pretty excited to be back with his dad, not that he didn’t love meeting his family in Wyoming. Time for bed.
